Motorheads can check out the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame to learn more about the history of the motorcycle and motorcycling. You can also learn the history and legacy of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally held in Sturgis, South Dakota. Opened in 2001, the museum and hall of fame was opened through the efforts of the museum, the Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle club, and other volunteers from the Sturgis community.
Inside the museum, visitors can find vintage and even rare motorcycles in the galleries. Many of the collections were loans for the museum from private collectors both local and national. The museum showcases about 100 unique and historic motorcycles that date as far as 1905. The Hall of Fame recognizes individuals and groups who contributed to the local motorcycle community.
