The Historic 25th Street is very famous in Ogden, Utah. According to history books, this street came to life when the Union Station first opened in 1969. After a series of railroads were completed, the 25th street became the center of activity in Ogden during the 20th Century. Several businesses were opened ? restaurants, ice cream parlors, retail shops, hotels, and laundries. The street was also known as being notorious because it was also the haven for illegal activities such as prostitution, gambling, and narcotics. In 1954, then Mayor Lorin Farr, a descendant of the first mayor of Ogden, took the initiative to shut down several illegal businesses as part of the clean-up campaign.
