The Henry Sheldon Museum of Vermont History is known as the oldest chartered community history museum in the country. It has been servicing the public since 1882, offering them lively tours, exhibits, and other programs that enrich one?s understanding of the history of Vermont.

The Museum features 3 parts, the Judd-Harris House, which was constructed in 1829, to showcase objects that depict the small town life of Vermont in the 19th century. The Stewart-Swift Research Center contains on the premier archival collections in the state. It documents the history of Middlebury, Addison County, and Vermont. The Walter Cerf Gallery, on the other hand, features changing exhibits all year long.

The Museum offers a dynamic series of events annually together with an education program for school children.
