The Lake Champlain Maritime Museum houses historical exhibits, nautical archaeology, maritime collections, an 18th-century style blacksmith shop, a replica of the Canal Schooner Lois McClure, and an active boat building. All these features are situated at a lakeside location. The Museum also offers its visitors an opportunity to view a square-rigged Revolutionary War gunboat replica, which visitors are can board and explore.

Other activities that the Museum offers are courses and workshops on traditional boat building as well as seamanship skills. During summer, kayaking building and trekking can be enjoyed by teens as well. The Museum is also open for school field trips.

The Museum houses its own Gift Shop where visitors can purchase books, unique gifts, apparel, and other souvenirs.
