Most notable for its octagonal shape, the Alberts Chapel is a Methodist structure that can be located on top of the Sand Ridge hill in West Virginia. It was built in 1903 in the Carpenter Gothic architectural style.

Although, Alberts Chapel is fairly simple and is not fancily adorned, it is still distinguished for its overall design. The fact that it is located on top of a hill may have added to its aesthetic, as it seems to beckon worshippers and tourists to come and visit the building.

The Alberts Chapel was named after its builder, Albert Poling using materials that were provided by his relatives. It may seem small, but it can actually seat up to 300 people. Like other buildings that seem to be circular in shape, it was made that way in accordance to the belief that without any corner, the devil won?t be able to hide inside the structure.
