Located just across the Kanawha River where you can see Parkersburg is where Fort Boreman Hill located. This is first called as Mount Logan but renamed into Fort Boreman as respect to the first governor of West Virginia Arthur Boreman. This place is very historical this is where the union garrison of WV Infantry was encamped because of the civil war. The public hanging is also happening in Fort Boreman even until 1868.

Since Fort Boreman already served as a historical landmark for USA during civil war. The old hill for garrisons turned to be the city?s newest park. The site is one of the best place for overlooking and picnic area for the family. During 2003, it was considered to be WV?s one of historical landmark for military. This park is open all year round. Thus, if you wanted to refresh your mind from memories of the history of WV, you can look on Fort Boreman and refresh your mind with the beauty of the scenery and the area at is.
