St. Feriole Island Rating: None

Wisconsin Attractions / Landmarks / Places > Prairie Du Chien Email This Bookmark Print
The St. Feriole Island is one of Prairie du Chien?s city parks. It used to be a major area in the city, but due to constant flooding, relocating the residents was found necessary. Today, the island serves as a recreational area for locals and tourists; it is also some sort of a historic district.

What makes St. Feriole Island something short of becoming a historic district is the fact that most historic buildings are left in the area. When people relocated from the island to move to higher grounds, the city decided to keep those structures with historical significance, making the 240 acre land area a top tourist attraction today.

Top historic areas that can be found on St. Feriole Island include the Mississippi River Sculpture Park and the Villa Louis Historic Site.
