In the town of Evanston, Wyoming stands the Chinese Joss House Museum. Its name is taken from the term ?Joss house? which refers to a Chinese folk temple. The structure was in commemoration and celebration of the contributions the Chinese immigrants made for the town.

Although, the original Joss House of Evanston burned down in 1922, the tradition and memory of it still remain. This is why the replica was created and housed memorabilia, like historical photographs and the original structure?s panels, related to the history of the place and the Chinese migration.

Today, people can visit the Chinese Joss House Museum by appointment. Admission is free, although donations are also very welcome. The museum is operated by the Uinta County Museum, which is located nearby.
