The Hoof Prints to the Past Museum links the people of Kaycee to their history and roots through several well guided and narrated tours of the region. These tours include destinations like the Nate Champion?s shootout site, Outlaw Caves, Butch Cassidy?s Hole-in-the-wall, the Dull Knife Battle, and other historic spots that are within the range of the route.
The Museum is able to illustrate the richness of history of Kaycee through artifacts and photos that demonstrate the rough but proud lives of the early settlers, pioneers and Native Americans in the area.
It also maximizes Johnston County as a sportsman paradise. Visitors can enjoy the wildlife in this place as they get to view wolves, bears, foxes, bobcats, and other predators. There are also mules and white tail deer, antelopes, and elks.
