Canadian Government Investigates Farmers for Using Child Labor

I thought only American government officials were this stupid – or arrogant, whichever term you wish to use.

Farm families can no longer have their own children working on the farm?

And, don't believe this doesn't happen – or won't happen in the future – here in the USA.

Odd that some one in this little farming community would make a complaint against a neighbor for having their kids work on the farm which is almost always a given for kids growing up on a farm.
I wonder if the rat in this case wasnt actually one of the kids \Particularly if they were being asked to work on the line 8-12 hours a day instead of just doing normal farm related chores for a few hours a day.

Just the fact that ANY government agency would even consider something like this is disgusting.

I'm sure most countries have child labor laws, however on the surface of the story it doesnt appear that these children were being abused, i think at this point its a bureaucrat merely responding to the complaint.and its only an investigation that i think will go nowhere,
However if legal action is applied i'll have much more to opine on the issue

I lived in a foster home that was on a ranch/farm.

We busted out butts before and after school and on Saturdays. When school was out, we worked in the fields.

I loved every minute of it and, for the first time in my life, felt I was contributing something.

I recently returned to that place to find mosf of the land now occupied by large apartment buildings. I was told they had to get rid of the farm because of California regulations on having youths involved in "hard laboir."

Never felt sadder.
