J&J Restaurant

I finally ate at J&J Restaurant, also known as J&J's, in Western Village at 6159 Glenway Ave.
The place has been there for years but it was always crowded when I tried to go there. I got lucky last week and ate a late breakfast there.
My waitress was kind of rude to me, slamming my food down and being very curt, although she was nicer to the other customers. The scrambled eggs I ordered were delicious, but the French toast and regular toast were kind of tasteless and dry. I wasn't impressed.

Pappadeaux

https://pappadeaux.com/home/

I have wanted to eat at Pappadeaux in Springdale for years, but was always told it was expensive. I had some extra spending money last week and decided to have lunch there on a weekday.
Pappadeaux is an expensive chain restaurant, featuring Cajun and New Orleans fish meals. I ordered one of the cheaper items, Grilled Mixed Seafood. I thought the meal was on a kabob stick when it arrived, but it was just the way it was lined up on the plate over the rice.
There was a combination of salmon, tilapia, shrimp, red and green peppers and onions. It was delicious! I ended up taking some of it home because it was too much food for me.
I want to go back.

Piada

Piada is a small chain that has opened a restaurant at Western Hills Plaza in the old Gold Star Chili place.

I visited there last week out of curiosity. You can both eat there or get carryout. I tried a small bowl of the basil pesto. You can choose whether you want spaghetti or pasta, so I opted for spaghetti. I had no idea what basil pesto was, but it is a creamy green sauce rather than tomato sauce. It was filling but neither too bland nor to spicy or tangy, and I really enjoyed it. I will return to Piada eventually.
