I disagree with the idea that good deeds should be done in secret. I get it, I get it, don't brag, be humble and all that... But why does the opinion even exist that the average person wouldn't even give you the time of day?

I say tell! Make it known that you subscribe to the philosophy of generosity, and through your example encourage others to do the same.
