I have dozens of times.
From changing a ladies flat tire, to pull people out of the snowy ditch, to giving rides to stranded people, or donating gas to a car that ran out in the middle of nowhere.
I once gave a lady a ride 400 kms after her car broke down on the side of a quiet highway.

We do NOT need to raise taxes on the people. The government needs to spend less is the answer.
I've pulled out several cars and trucks, changed a tire for a lady on one of the coldest days of the year, provided some gas and antifreeze to stranded travelers and I can't remember how many times I've pumped up tires and given a jump to get their cars started.
It's carma and it will come back to you in a positive way.
To the guy that rear ended me at the stop light and never even got out of his truck or roll his window down to apologize... carma will get him in a negative way.
I have made it a habit to help if and when I can and never accept money. The first time I get helped out the guy asked for 20 bucks for 5 min. of help.
I don't want karma to hit him but I wouldn't mind if it hit me.
I can't stop every time, but I do what I can, when I can. I've passed by at 65mph when I've been in a hurry; today I pulled nine cars back onto solid ground.
I never ask for cash, and I try to talk people out of giving it. I won't utterly refuse it - a former Marine/retired cop insisted on giving me and my brother some cash in thanks for stopping and replacing a tire on his horse trailer. Had I insisted on refusing, we'd still be arguing about it. :-)
In my experience, it's not that people don't care. Most people would probably stop if they could help, but most people don't have the tools, equipment, knowledge, or skills to help. The best they can do is offer a phone call, and everyone already has a cell phone. Better for the average person to pass by and stay out of the way.
