Lehigh Valley jeep help

I posted this on jeepforum also, I know a lot of guys here have jeeps and was wondering if you guys know a local garage that work specifically on jeep. I have a carburated 89 yj that I nuttered, tfi upgraded and replaced the carter with a mc 2100 and am looking for a mechanic that is familliar with the setup and is willing to work on it for me. Seems like most places dont touch carburators anymore. Anyways I did all the work my self and cant seem to get it to run right so if anyone knows of a local place I can take it to I would greatly appreciate if you let me know. Thanks

Carl's Service Center on 873 in Slatington works on my '67 Chevy truck that's carburated. They seem to have a knack with old motors, you might try them. There's a Jeep-specific place right in Palmerton, they're pretty much on the ramp when you get back onto 248, you might try them as well. Good luck.

I'm near Palmerton. I don't recall a Jeep place.

Are you talking about the ATV store on the corner at the traffic light when you first get into town?

No, if you go through Slatington, up 873 towards Schnecksville, it'll be at the top of the hill on your left, on the Corner of 873 and Old Post Road, caddycorner from Sule's Auto Body. It's like going back in time, pretty much just Carl and his son. They do great work, did the motor rebuild on my '67 Chevy stepside and are completely confortable with carburated motors. Tell them Matt, the guy with the '67 Chevy truck said hi. PM me for more info if you'd like.

Well I reside just outta allentown and hellertown, pretty close to springtown (google it)! Anyway I've been all over the US with my jeeps. Had work down here and there, east to west. And the best place the I would recommend is called D&J Auto. D&Js is actually a junk yard that does alota garage work too. They're located on Richland Town Pike just between hellertown and richlandtown. GREAT mechanic! not a jeep specialist but he's the best i've ever delt with, weather for my '07 or my '79 jeep, he's GOOD!

Another place, farely close to that, located on RT 212 just outside of springtown is called "Sivitsky Auto" or "sivitsky antiques" (check spelling). Small shop, but old antiques and JEEPs they know!! The one guy used to build and race jeeps way back! these guys are GOOOOD mechanics! they know thier stuff!!

good luck! hope that helps!

Was just wondering if you ever decided who to take the jeep to? My father and i are working on his 88 YJ with 4.2L and are having similar issues.

I found a guy in allentown off of craigslist. Carde auto. I think he just opened up but I called and asked if he would look at it. He sounded like he didnt really want to but he did. He got it running good but its not exactly where I want it so im gonna take it back soon.
