Micro breweries

Michigan has a great selection of Microbreweries. I am from the west side of the state and am more familiar with this area, but you can go to Dark Horse in Marshall, Bells in Kalamazoo, Founders Brewery in Grand Rapids, Shorts in Bellaire (Northern Michigan) or New Holland in Holland just to name a few.

Sleeping Bear Dunes. Big mountains of sand overlooking the best of the great lakes. The great lakes alone are worth the trip, but seeing them from the top of a dune, and staring at them as you run (or fall) down the dune is a blast. They also have dune buggy rides too, I've heard.

Here here. And wineries to match. Nothing better than sitting on a beach at sunset with a bonfire and a micro brew on a July night.

I'm in agreement on all of the fantastic breweries and wineries. That alone could give someone a weeks vacation worth of things to do.

In fact, you could do a microbeer tour of Michigan!
Michigan Brewpubs and Microbreweries

If you're here the first Saturday of May, come down to Taylor to the best brew supply around, Adventures in Homebrewing, 23869 Van Born Rd, Taylor 48180, (313) 277-2739. They put on a Brew Fest, with 50 different home brews on tap and critters on the grill...totally free, and a great group of people.

reasons to visit the mitten

1. Granholm is leaving

2. Great Breweries

3. Red Wings Hockey

4. We have the best commercials; that we apparently need, to remind people who live here already to visit pure michigan? Maybe its so we don't leave.
