Aside from what everyone else covered: drink beer! We've got some excellent microbreweries in MT. I'm from Bozeman so of course there's Bozone, Madison River, Big Hole, Big Sky, Harvest Moon and a lot of other great ones I can't remember off the top of my head. Definitely try some local beers if you're in the area and I bet you won't regret it!
Love the outdoors pretty much why I live here, love to hike, jeep a back wood road, and love to take the harley on long cruises through twisty mountain roads. Man can't wait for spring!

Yeah, down around the Bannack area and between Libby and Kalispell. Mostly people play at panning for gold. There are other places too. Do a search on mining claims in Montana and you'll come up with the areas to start poking around near. "Near" meaning not on someone's claim, but on public land nearby. We don't need a permit for recrational panning but if you do anything else, you might want to look into the subject a bit.
My buddy in Eureka likes to:
Cut down trees, skip and jump, he likes to collect wild flowers.
He wears women's clothing with suspenders and a brar.
Just joking...actually he likes to listen to the trees grow.

That valley over there has a real problem all the folks moving up from California.
When I retired, we went home to Oregon to find a place to live and discovered that Oregon was now the northern most county in California...so we retired to Cut Bank. Doubt the Californians will take over here.
