I vote for the Keene Pumpkin fest, if you have never been, it is so amazing, because they break world records for the most carved pumpkins!

Search for Yogi Bear Jellystone park in Ashland, NH. We go there every year. The BEST family oriented camp ground with lots of activities and things to do without having to leave but, also close to near by attractions. Funplex, the boardwalk and lots of lake beaches. We always have a good time there and we feel it's the best spent money for a vacation with all that they have to do just at the camp ground.

The camp ground says it all. It's a fun place for everyone. You can litterally let the kids go and know that they are still safe. There is staff every where even during the night. It's set off the road so, you won't have to worry about people just coming in and driving through. The staff is really good about keeping the unwanted out.

Campgrounds in NH

I haven't been to the Ashland Jellystone, but we have been to Jellystone campgrounds in other states and they are excellent. Very friendly staff, very good family experience. They cost a little more, but the kids love it. KOA campgrounds are also good.

Stay WAY clear of "Happy Camper" campgrounds.. It would be generous to say that the places are dives!

If you're looking for a great family-friendly campground near Concord, NH... try Oxbow Campground in Hillsboro, NH. They have a very clean, family-friendly campground. It's gated and the owners are not afraid to turn away anyone who causes trouble. They have a fishing lake and a swimming lake and usually have events each weekend. They are 30 min from Concord.

Loon Mountain is a great full day for families during the off-season. They have all kinds of cool things to do, including a huuuuuuuge zip line, rock climbing, bungee acrobatic stuff, tram rides up the mountain, caves, bicycle rentals, you name it. We had a GREAT day there in August. I don't know if they're still at it though.

A friend of mine bought a condo in Lincoln, NH at the west end of the Kancamagus. I wondered why until we spent a few days up there. There is so much to do around there, with or with out kids. Some of it's a bit touristy, but there's great outdoors stuff as well - all year round. Now I want a condo in the area. Or an A frame.
