I hate litter. I have been known to follow people all the way to their destination after seeing them littler just to give them a piece of my mind.
I was walking down 7th ave in NYC one time on St. Patrick's Day. There was TONS of people everywhere. I was walking right behind a guy who was publicly drinking (no brown bag or anything) a beer, and when he was finished, just threw it on the ground, shattering everywhere. I was pissed. I immediately started screaming at him and alerted the cops. They ticketed him and cuffed him for public drunkeness and littering.
I couldn't agree more, but I guess it's just human nature.
People just can't be bothered to find a trashcan.
And most people are too, whats the word I'm looking for, not so much polite, but lazy, or even afraid to say anything when they see somebody littering.
Oh well, they'll probably never stop littering, but maybe they can come up with more products that are biodegradable.
A soda bottle that would only last a few years (or whatever) would make a difference.
These two wanna be white gangsters were driving in front of me in a ford explorer and they were throwing garbage out the window, one thing after another. Including GLASS bottles (vodka bottles go figure) Anyways, they were headed to the same place we were and i decided to write "litter bugs" on the dirt coated back window.
I was behind a woman at a traffic light and saw her throw a napkin out the window. I got out of the car, picked it up and handed it back to her and said "I believe you dropped this".
i don't see how hard it is to simply keep a used shopping bag in your car at all times to collect your trash and toss it in a garbage can when you get a chance... It drives me crazy, whenever i go out to hike, bike, or kayak there is trash on the road, trash in the woods and trash everywhere in the water. BAHHH!
i remember that comercial too.. most of the garbage is probebly from kids who don't give a rat's behind !! i do have to admit when i was younger, i didn't care much either.. of coarse i do care much, much more now....
