Saw the first one a few weeks ago. It was like -35C with no wind. That's a power plant just north of the city, it their cooling towers. The second one is the cheese burger I had for lunch the other day at Dennys.

Forests of old large trees sunk in the Columbia river during it's logging years. These logs are worth up to $5000.00 apiece and are p-perfectly preserved by the cold water.
Divers are guided to them by underwater cameras and attach cables for retrieval.

I can only guess it was rolled there by, possibily, "vandals", but it stood there all winter......you'll notice some snow on it on the second photo....thanks for asking.......and, that is a portion of "George Washington's" James River Canal that flows through Richmond, VA....

Here are a few photos of the "Locks" on the entrance to the canal from the "Tidal" James River. In the background of the first photo, you'll see what we call "Tobacco Row".....the Tobacco factories along "Main Street".......since they are not used for the making if cigarettes, etc., they have been converted into "Row Appartments" and are now lived in like condominiums. The last photos are known locally as the "City Locks" and it is here the river level is guaged during flood times, etc.......the boat in the river is for the "Coast Guard"
