I have written somewhere about it, but I will write it here again.
It was 3-4 years ago, when I was in a contact with a person from Belgium called Jean, which for me was definitely a female name. 2-3 months we disused details concerning a bike tour in BG. Usually I have not problem associating with people, but all the time I have felt I am wrong … the things were not as I want to be. Even I shared it with my sister (she is a doctor – mental specialist).
The day of our meeting came, so I was very very surprised to see at Sofia airport, that Jean is a man … I got confused strongly and lost my speaking ability in this important moment, luckily Maya was with me and took the things in her hands … Next day, when the tour began, in the evening we had a dinner in a restaurant and I told them about my misleading … They said “nothing to worry about Bob … we have thought you are a homosexual one … “ …........... Maya fallen down from the chair laughing, and I again lost my ability to speak … Another so great laughter I can not remember …
Now when I am in a contact with French speaking people, of first I always consult with Jean about names and sex …

Austin … if you mean lectures, I have it Monday afternoon … My course will end after 3 weeks.
Down is a photo of Iskar river Gorge … it is long 80 kilometers – perfect for bicycling. Some places in it are almost like the Grand Canyon … not so grand of course …

Austin … I see in yahoo, that all the states are covered by snow … except Florida …. Is there a snow in Texas? Here we do have unusual hot weather … no any snow in the middle of January …

Joel ... I had a heavy night ... much rakia, after testing of home prepared red and white wines …

We get flurries, light snow like breezes, but for most of the state snow is not going to happen. Truth be told, I have never seen real snow fall.

This gorge is not known as a place of battles. It is very long and narrow, so foreign armies avoided it. (Even now no main road here – it is because so nice for bicycling there)
Until the Turk invasion here, the main battles were between Byzantium and Bulgaria (except other hordes coming from Asia – Hazars, Avars, Magyars, Pechenegs, Kiev Russian, Mongolian ext) … Usually Byzantines armies crossed the Balkan at its lower eastern part, but it always brought them great problems, and no one Bz army was absolutely broken up there. Even one Bz imperator was killed there.
The only one battle I know took place in Iskar River gorge was in the end of the second Bulgarian Kingdom – in the end of XIV century, when small our army tried to stop one Turk army in the north end of the gorge. This small army was broken up in a place called now “Черепиш” … “Cherepish” – meaning something like a “place covered by sculls”. There is an ancient church and monastery there. Down is a photo of this place.

Nothing like that in Texas, although it reminds me of Royal Gorge in Colorado.
