Alpine, Blaupunkt, Pioneer are some of the stereotypes that I remember my buddy used to put into his vehicle back home.

Wait... You mean like OTHER stereotypes?

The one I remember from my old Texas lady friend was 'A Church on one corner and a Bar on the other'

She was from Abeline 'By God' Texas.
Bless her pointed little head.

I thought of this specific thread when I read today of Mark Stroman, as he was getting ready for his lethal injection for killing two people.

"Even though I lay on this gurney, seconds away from my death, I am at total peace," he said. He called himself "still a proud American, Texas loud, Texas proud."

I just face palmed and groaned at the same time.

It's like the "Don't mess with Texas" junk. It's an anti litter campaign, not the state motto.

The state motto is Friendship. Kind of a bit different huh?

JUDY ANN MAGERS AND MERLE THE BURRO=
Photographed, with her permission, this "Lady" who was riding this Burro from Marfa to Valentine, Texas (when we saw her).......said she rode five miles each day.....I was also able to record a short video of her....we were traveling from San Antonio along US-90 when we saw her trudging along...I was traveling with my wife and her sister and told them I was going to stop and talk to "Him"......I thought it was a man...they didn't want to stop...thought all kind of things could happen to us, not knowing anything about the stranger....I stopped, anyway, and found it was a woman....I asked her if I could take a few photos of her and she said, sure! Asked if we had any cigarettes she could buy and produced some bills......I told her my wife and sister both smoked and had plenty of cigarettes with them......we "gave" her a pack and drove on.......my best experience of the whole trip......I found out who she was and posted some of the photos for her family to view...she has since passed away....she had everything she would need right with her...I named the photo, "LADY WITH ABODE ABOARD"...I really feel honored to have been able to chat with her for a few moments....of course, Marfa is the city with the mystery lights...
