Yeah, I actually met the guys that built the "Big 10 Incher" a couple of years ago. We took the family to a big pumpkin farm for halloween festivities and they had the big gun there on display. This was around wilmington DE. The guys that built that gun are all retired engineers with a wild hair up their A$$ permanently.
He told me all about the competition, but I had no idea as to the scale until I saw that show on TV. I'm going to attend it next year for sure since it's only about an hour south for me.
Lived in DE all my life but never been to one. Pretty crazy redneck-style fun from what I hear! Just saw the episode with the Mythbuster crew there. Hopefully I can make it next year.
I have lived in delaware for 15 years and never been, but after seeing punkin chunkin on discovery this year, I told my family that we have to go next year!
Went to the Chunk for the first time in 15+ years and my it has changed. I used to go when it was off Route 1. Man you can't even see the pumpkins anymore. These guys should run the space program!

I remember going a round that time and having a blast may have to go next year.
I have never been but I have friends that have. Most of them say it pretty much sucks to go to. There are so many people that you can't really see anything. They said it is pretty much just one giant tailgate party.
Now living in South Florida, coming from DE and spending a poop load of time at the beach, winter and summer, it's great seeing the Pumpkin Chunkin on TV.
