Not strictly cajun, but my favorite NOLA restaurant is Boucherie where Iris used to be on Jeanette. Prices are way cheaper than a FQ place and the food just as good, maybe better

Lived in NOLA for 8 years. Cafe du Monde was awesome. Hard to beat coffee and beignets for breakfast, unless it's coffee, beignets and some bacon on the side!

I remember the first time I went to Cafe du Monde. It was a hot and sticky day as usual, but the group I was with all wanted to go have coffee and beignets there. It was WORTH the sweltering temperatures! Delicious beignets.

Has anyone tried the mix they sell there/online? I'm afraid I'd disappoint myself when they don't turn out as good as the ones bought at the actual restaurant lol.

There's a Du Monde in the factory outlets in Gonzales, too.
