Infamous abortionist Kermit Gosnell dispensed of babies aborted alive with a deft stroke of the surgical scissors to severe the spine. Ironically a pair of scissors trumped healthcare rationing in the UK.

It seems that the Brits are a bit chary about providing active care for very young preemies. If they weigh less than one pound they are left to die. In the case of Maddalena Douse she weighed in at one pound, it wasn't until she was safely on the ventilator that the doctors noticed the surgical scissors on the scales. Apparently the scissors used to snip the umbilical cord were accidentally(?) placed on the scales with Maddalena .
