EL PASO, Texas ? Following the recent arrests of drug cartel suspects, the United States on Friday warned Americans traveling to or from Chihuahua, Mexico, that U.S. border crossings and the local consulate could become the targets of attacks.
"Information has come to light that suggests a cartel may be targeting the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juarez or U.S. Ports of Entry," the consulate said in a statement Friday. "In the past, cartels have been willing to utilize car bombs in attacks. We ask American citizens to remain vigilant."
Try this one.......just for your information, since it is under the category of "bomb"...received it in an e-mail and thought it was worth sharing.....and,

WOW! AS IF THERE ISN'T ENOUGH TO WORRY ABOUT OUT THERE!!!
Kids are putting Drano, tin foil, and a little water in plastic drink bottles and capping it up - leaving it on lawns, in mail boxes, in gardens; on driveways etc., just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the rubbish, but you'll never make it!!!
If the bottle is picked up, and the bottle is shaken even just a little - in about 30 seconds or less it builds up enough gas which then explodes with enough force to remove some of your extremities. The liquid that comes out is boiling hot as well.
Don't pick up any plastic bottles that may be lying in your yards or in the gutter, etc.
Pay attention to this. A plastic bottle with a cap, add a little Drano, add a little water, and place a small piece of foil in with it all. Disturb it by moving it; and BOOM!!
No fingers left and other serious effects to your face, eyes, etc.
These are referred to as "Works Bombs". Please ensure that everyone that may not have email access is also informed of this.
Check it out at: http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/bottlebomb.asp
An email is circulating giving information about 2-liter plastic bottles (soda pop bottles) being left on lawns, in mailboxes, etc., that will blow up if picked up or shaken. The email warns readers not to touch the bottle if found.
Snopes.com (urban legend website) and Boise Police Department confirm this is true. The calls we receive on these bottle bombs are very low in number in the Boise area. It is important to have accurate information so you know how to protect yourself and what information to call into police dispatch.
The Boise Police Department Bomb Unit suggests:
If you find a plastic soda pop bottle with a cap, containing aluminum foil and a milky liquid, Call 911. Do NOT pick up or disturb the bottle. It is caustic. It can blow up spontaneously. It can cause serious injury.
If you find an empty soda pop bottle, it's probably garbage.
Alert today; Alive tomorrow.
Why aren't these delinquents doing something positive like entrepreneur stuff like kids used to, you now, selling dope or whatever on the corner instead of blowing things up.
I'm ashamed to say that this is how we did it as teenagers....plenty
of glass "whiskey bottles" around.......we would drop a couple
pieces of the carbide in, add a couple ounces of water and this is the
reaction......except we had flying glass as a result....and, you don't
need anything to detonate it....just wait for the expanding gas to
explode......and, that doesn't take long.......won't tell what happened
to a friend with our "messing around"....made us stop playing with the stuff...
we could buy a can of the carbide at the local hardware store...and, of
course, back then it was used almost exclusively by the coal miners who
all had the lamps attached to their miner's helmets.....
Flashed red as it exploded. Wonder what temperature range that would be?
Blucher? Where has he been? Where have you been Blucher?
