I think the Great Basin Brewery is the best brewery in the area. Tom and his staff are always so friendly and make you feel so welcome. Plus, the beers are just fantastic!!
Personally I like the Sparks location, but that really could be due to having spent as much time there as I have since it's opening. They have live music and good food. No matter how busy they are, you never feel rushed to open up a new table. I have spent hours there sipping on a great beer while in wonderful conversations with friends.
Here is what they have on tap this week. The four marked with *** are their signature brews available year round. Of those four their porter is my favorite. Last time I was there I enjoyed the oatmeal stout. It was excellent. I have tasted all of their beers and I have liked all of them.
Bitchin' Berry
Black Rock ESB
Cerveza Chilibeso
Fat Monk Belgian Style Tripel
Hop-A-Saur
***Ichthyosaur India Pale Ale
***Jackpot Porter
***Nevada Gold
Oktoberfest
Outlaw Oatmeal Stout
Truckee River Red
***Wheeler Peak Wheat
The Jalapeno beer there is absolutely amazing! It compliments must pub fare. The aftertaste will almost make you think you just had a pretzel with jalapeno cheese. Soooo good!!
I have only been there once, but have had ickys quite a few times. They have it on tap up here in winnemucca at the pizzeria. delicious. the food at the brewery was awesome. i still need to try the jalepeno beer. our friends rant and rave about it.
I LOVE their Icky, but I've noticed a change since they started brewing in their new place. Understandably so, they probably had to quadruple their recipe to fill the larger tanks. Anyone know when they will start bottling?
