Around 10 AM Wednesday July 4th, 2012
Eastern Washington Adventures members met up at Oak Creek Ace Hardware in Naches for the the annual Boulder Cave hike. We convoyed to Boulder Cave Trailhead near Cliffdell, Washington.
Once everyone paid there $5 for parking and used the out house, we headed up the Boulder Cave Trail. The weather was perfect for the hike.
Once at the cave we took a break and got a group picture.
We moved on through the dark cave using flashlights not to trip over the rocks. At one point of the cave it is pitch black. Not to far walking in the dark you can see light at the other end of the cave. Coming out the other end of Boulder Cave there are two platforms overlooking the small creek. We took another break there as some of the group went back around through Boulder Cave again. Since the group was spread out we decided to regroup at the loop intersection so no one was left behind or move up the trail thinking they were.
Once the whole group was back together at the loop intersection we headed back to the parking area for lunch.
After lunch some headed home and others came over to the
Eastern Washington Adventures Club House for a 4th of July potluck barbecue.
