The only time i go to Detroit to go to the Redwings games, other then that downtown has a lot of good places to eat.

If you are including the greater metro area, you can always go to the Henry Ford Museum.

Also, take a drive up Jefferson, turn east on Alter, and take it till it dead ends at Mariners Park.
It's worth the views, and the chance to drive down one of Americas most racial divided roads.
