Try Moose Brook State Park in Gorham. Nice and quiet location.

In NH, anywhere in the White Mountain national forest--especially near the presidential range/Mt Washington--there are many campgrounds along the Kancamangous highway that are operated by the national forest service which means very rustic and primitive...do a Google search of white Mountain National Forest and tons of info will pop up.

I have to agree with jazzalbert.

The White Mountain National Forest is a superb place to camp if you're looking for rustic and scenic.

It's also a great place to cruise on a bike or in a Jeep with the top down and the doors off!
