-The food is amazing, i had never really liked Mexican food till i moved here, but now i can't get enough of it!!

For those of you that are unfamilure with the Southwest. This really isn't Mexican food here. It is distinctly New Mexican food. If you like the food here you probably wouldn't like real Mexican food at all. I know that I don't. I have lived and travel through out the Southwest quite a bit over the years and as far as I'm concerned, no where else in the southwest compares to the New Mexican food.

Someone once asked me "So is it like Tex-Mex?"

...we're still not on speaking terms

Yea I agree with you. NEW-MEX food is ten times better than TEX-MEX.

I miss me some good New Mexican food. I swear every time I visit home, I gain 10 pounds in a week.

If your a history buff like I am theres Lincoln County where the Lincoln County Wars kicked off, and Fort Sunmer where Billy the Kid was Executed.

If your a biker like I am, Route 66 runs right though the state.

That's about all I can give you - we moved here this past June and it's finally getting cool enough to check some things out.

Two summers ago I vacationed for the first time in NM. It was one of the best vacations I ever had. Rented a car and drove all over. Saw (and enjoyed) many of the places listed above.

I really miss New Mex food (if they ask Red or Green, get Christmas) and sopapillas... They try to make them here in AZ but get it all wrong... ABQ was a great place to live!
