I was fortunate enough to be the guy that maintained the helicopter based at Ash Mountain there for years, there are places I got to see I could only dream about getting to on foot.

Hiking the Muir trail once, one of the Rangers on the trail told us about an un-named lake on one of the ridges above us that had 4-6lb trout in it. He said it was a full day or more of off trail bushwhacking to get to it, though. There must be thousands of lakes like that in the Sierras.
Hey scott lol looks like there will be a few of use in the drawing lol.
just a cold bug. norm it rains in SD and everyone gets sick. then when there fine again I get sick. just worried cause i have a 3 week old and i dont want her to get sick!
Hey Mach, I missed this reply. Sorry. Feeling better? Kiddo OK?
Yes i have been there, ill get some pictures up tomorrow
Paradise valley is probably the most popular trail in that area, so I would plan on getting up early and finding a site by about 3/4pm. after 4 it gets crowded and you cant find a site. The most crowded area is the north west corner of paradise valley/rae lakes loop because most people go up there for a night and hike back down. (when i say crowded, i mean like 25-35 ppl)
Are you planning on doing the whole loop or just going up and back down the next day?

Nothing set in stone yet. We'd like to do the whole loop. Last year we had to scrap plans to backpack Lyell Canyon into Vogelsang in mid-July due to snow (3-5' @ Vog). Looking for something with a little less elevation for this year.
