Where Paddock Meets Vine
In the 1970s, you heard this phrase every day on local television ads: "Where Paddock Meets Vine at the Big Indian Sign." It was for the car dealership at the intersection of Vine Street and Paddock Road in Carthage.
I discovered a few weeks ago that the sign was still there, and there is still a used car dealership there. I don't know if the guy has a name or anything. I'm surprised the Sign Museum hasn't tried to buy him. I have no idea how old the sign is.
I wish I could have gotten a better closeup, but it's a busy street and a crappy neighborhood and I didn't want to get out of my car.
