Italian Fest ~ Collinsville, IL

It's an annual event that takes place in Collinsville in the style of a huge block party offering wine tastings, food (lots of food), games for all ages, live music as well as a 5K run/walk, diaper dash for tots, and local pageants for Lil Miss and Lil Mr. Italian Fest. Second weekend in September on Main Street.

4 wheelers jamboree at the state fairgrounds in Springfield. They usually have monster trucks, and a huge car show.

"Music Without Borders" - Millenium Park (Chicago)

1. Music from all over the world.
2. It's FREE.
3. You can bring your own food and drinks, or buy snacks/beer/wine at the park.

It takes place every June-July on Thursdays for 8 or 9 weeks. We've been going there for the last 4 years, and every single concert so far was GREAT!

Mascoutah und August Fest, first full weekend in August. Antique tractor show, draft horse pull, truck pull, fireman's muster, car show every year!

I went to the Taste of Chicago for the first time this year. It wasn't really my cup of tea.

To be honest, most of these festivals are starting to price themselves out of my budget.

I do try to attend at least on of the local Ribfests though each summer.
