That's a really tough question because of the proximity to NY and Philly, which are 2 of the 5 best places to get a meal in the US (along with San Fran, Chicago, and New Orleans, IMO). When I really want a top flight local meal, not some chain food (yes, Mortons and Capitol Grill are chains), I go into Philly. Best Italian in my area is probably Anthony's Restaurant in Haddon Heights.

Best hot dogs are in Phillipsburg NJ at Toby's. It's a tiny place right on route 22, and you have to take out or eat in your car as there is no dining area, but they are the best hot dogs I ever had.

Kind of New here...

But I figured I would love to post a great spot for dinner and drinks, if that is what we are looking for here. If you are looking to get a great dinner and have a few drinks I highly recommend Riverside Bar and Grill in Clifton, NJ. I take the girlfriend there a few times a month it's reasonably priced and the food is really good, and it has a great dinning atmosphere. Just thought I would pass that info along.

Last night I went to Cuban Pete's in Montclair. Food was good, reasonably priced, BYOB. Great place if you want to try something different, but get there early as around 6:30-7:30 the college and 20 somethings come in and it gets packed and LOUD. Food service is fast too.
