Vacation/Road trip
I'm planning a two week vacation/ road trip to visit some friends in CA and MI to take place about late Oct/ early Nov 2011.
Any recommended stops? I plan on hitting a few parks (I love the photo opportunities).
Anyone want me to come see them (I might request food
)?
I'll have about 14 days to get back home, so i can't do everything in one trip...
So, fire away!
Also, i need recommendations on a GPS...

I would be a lot more helpful if you were heading North East.

Am I reading it right that you are going to California and Michigan? Not exactly close together, 30+ hours each way to CA. Coming from there, you will still have decent weather but cold nights at Lake Tahoe and Yosemite which are no-miss destinations when visiting CA.
As for the GPS, look for one with free updates. I love my Garmin but they want $69 to update the maps, though the whole thing cost only about $100. May as well buy a new one.
What is the gas price where you are? You may find it to be a lot more out here in the west, we're running $3.20+/gallon now and CA is usually higher.

Price up here is 1.22 per liter. That's close to 5.00 per gallon.
Yikes is right.

That is higher than us, Shell and Chevron are that much but Costco is $2.98
if you don't mind waiting in line behind 20-30 other cars. I figure it saves $3 a tank so not worth it.

I filled up today at $2.74
This is the 'first draft' of my route...
It's still subject to change...

Around here gas is around $3.50! Good ol' Oahu!
On GPS, I've got a Nuvi, and it's awesome.
