I too am enjoying a fine Maudite all by myself.
My wife it at her parents, my daughter is at a high school dance and my boys are out with their girl friends.
I've eaten and have left over lasagna in the fridge.
I have more beer.
Later, I may walk down my streets to the Black Lion Pub for a couple of vodka tonics.
(We don't actually have any snow on the ground yet. That's last year's picture)

And sure I saw your Cornwell reply, and I've read all of Dietrich's books too.
You are obviously a man of impeccable tastes and distinguished character!
I can find all kinds of Sharpe novels locally, just not the first one in the series.
Steven Pressfield's historical books are pretty darn good too.

You are the First...that I've encountered on the web, that has read these authors..

My wife is a cross country skier, so now that we have a little snow, she's out with her twin sister skiing every night. They use Black Diamond head lamps, and take the dogs. My daughter is becoming quite addicted to it also.

Anyhow, my winter nights consist of either sitting home and drinking while watching hockey(Pens fan) or jumping in the Jeep and hitting the "No Winter Maintenance" roads.
Those roads are a blast, most never see a plow because there are no houses on them..

The pic of your local restaurant looks like an awesome place...we have a local brewery/restaurant, I'll get a pic posted, quite often, they are brewing while I've been eating/drinking there..

Today, I'm going to a jewelry store that I frequent and get one or two X-Mas gifts for my wife. Mostly I get her something from Landstrom's Black Hills Gold, but this year she would like diamond earings. Hopefully, the girls at the
store can assist, then I'll get...

UPDATE: Went jewelry shopping, bought the wife a pair of 1/2 carrot diamond earrings and a Black Hills Gold bracelet, huge and gaudy, but man it's pretty too..butterfly design with all the colors normally found on these. I'm feelin' good.......

Well Joel, I'm glad for you that you managed to snag something sweet for your wife!

I was thinking of getting mine some nice woolen socks for when we go x-country in our back yard

We're some of the few that can still do that here on the Island of Montreal. Our house backs onto a protected (for now) forest. It's a really nice place during a major snowfall when there is no one else out there except our immediate neighbors.

Well, I spent part of my day at a vernissage a friend of mine was hosting.
There was a non stop stream of fine wine and some pretty good cheeses and crackers as well.
The art was alright too.
Pics are towards the end when most of the crowd had thinned out.

Well ?. And a story I have heard yesterday. A ship has sunk into the ocean and only 4 persons survived at an uninhabited small island ? An English gentlemen, American businessman, a French artist and one our BG country man. The only thing they had was a deck of cards. So, nothing to do, they have begun to play. After 3-4 years, the ocean waves brought a bottle on the beach, and when they opened the bottle, a Ghost appeared on them. It was closed in the bottle for more than 1000 years, and enjoying of the freedom, decided to fulfill one wish of each of men.
The American one wanted to go immediately in USA because of his busyness.
The French one decided that Mary is longing for him so long time ? and he must be with her immediately.
The one from GB said that other gentlemen are waiting for him in their Club ? he disappeared too.
And then, our Red Neck said to the Ghost: ?AY OY EY OI ?. What are you doing ? Ghost stupid ? can?t you see that the game is still not over ?. Bring here my best friends immediately we MAST over the game !!!
