Clouds

Took some pictures of some clouds after a thunder storm came over the house a few days ago, I thought they were pretty cool. These clouds were moving to the east with the sun behind me. I like how it looks lime there is fire inside.

nice, I love clouds. Vuarnet makes skier sunglasses with a filter that makes moguls stand out. That same filter (polarizing + ?) used on clouds shows where the water vapor is heaviest.

The kids were flying kites in the back yard when I noticed a rainbow color cloud above Selah. By the time I got my camera, most of the color was gone. In these pics you can still see a little color.

I saw something like that last week also but I could not get a good picture of it. I kind of looked like a sun dog in the winter time.

A sun dog or sundog (scientific name parhelion, plural parhelia, from Greek parēlion, (παρήλιον), παρά(beside) + ήλιος(sun), "beside the sun". Also called a mock sun or a phantom sun that creates bright spots of light in the sky, often on a luminous ring or halo on either side of the sun.
Up here they are more prevalent in the winter on clear cold sunny days.

I love nice clouds. I always forget to take a picture when the action is happening. I need to change that.
