I really
LOVE fishing. It relaxes me, brings me to lovely settings at dawn and recharges my soul.
That said I was never able to equate ice fishing with normal fishing. My lake would become a small city of ice fishing huts during St. Paul Winter Carnival. The Blue Angels even landed on skis one year. It was an
EVENT.
It was also darn cold in the chill of a pre-Thinsulate, GoreTex, & Goosedown Minnesota morning. Out of all the things I've done on that lake ice fishing was the only disappointment.
In retrospect I've concluded that ice fishing is the frozen man cave of the North where men can bond with little concern about female witnesses.
Heard about the Pro Ice Fishing League? You have got to check out the Minnesota Fighting Ticks, a team in the IPIFL (Indoor Professional Ice Fishing League). The "Ticks" were the 1998 League Champions. Way to go Ticks!!!
When you visit the Ticks page, be sure to listen to the exciting "sudden death fish out", during which they won the 1998 season championship.
