What's the earliest that you decorate for Christmas?

We have always started the weekend after Thanksgiving (as one poster already mentioned, let's not take away from the current holiday!) and it always comes down on New Years Day. What is the deal with stores and such doing it a week earlier each year? It is like X-mas starts two or three weeks before T'giving and last for 1 & half to two months now!!!!
