Italian phood

Fazzoli's eh? I keep driving past that place everytime I drop my recycling off. Guess now I'm going to have to try these sandwiches since you recommended them.

I still like Cafe on The Square too. I used to go eat at Cafe de Corte when it was located where Dillingers now is on the square. Mike, the owner then of Cafe de Corte, now runs Cafe on The Square. The food is better than it was, and I like the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce, refried beans, spanish rice and hot tortillas with a side of chips and salsa. They still have the best humongos Breakfast Burritos.

Tap Room is be the best bar food I've ever had....hands down.

For the price and the amt you get, Herbert's can't be beat. However, I believe El Charro is alla-round better food.

Best burger though - Centerpoint Station

THE SMOKE SHACK is one of the best places around............

WELL THE BEST TO ME IS THE SMOKE SHACK ACCROSS THE STREET FROM MR.GATTIS. I HAD WENT TO THE SMOKE SHACK FOR A CHEESEBURGER AND IT WAS BIG WITH ALL THE TRIMMINGS. I MEAN IT HAD FRESH PICKLES, LETTUCE, ONIONS, CHEESE, AND TOMATO. ALSO THE MEAT WAS A VERY VERY DELICIOUS MEAT. I MEAN EVERY BITE IN THE BURGER WAS JUST AS GOOD AS THE PREVIOUS BITE. MY ADVICE IS TO GO AND CHECK OUT THE SMOKE SHACK FOR SOME OF THE BEST BBQ AND BURGERS AROUND, HANDS DOWN TO THIS PLACE, ITS REALLY REALLY GOOD..................

Tap room - best burgers around

Herberts - a staple in every san marcos residents diet

Rogilios - not quite as good as herberts, but the salsa is better

Valentinos - best pizza in town, plus cheap beer

El Gulfo de Mexico - place by the porn shop is really good.

Wow thanks!

I used to go to school in SM and now my parents want to go shop there and eat and want me to find a good place - this is the only site I have found that has any useful info on it. Thank you very much! I think I will try El Charo based on all the comments...but what I'd really like is some quaint little gorgeous old place that little old ladies would adore. Not an easy request...

Amy,
Down on 35, across the highway from the Outlet Mall, is the Antique Outlet. The Antique Outlet is a cool store in itself, but in the very back corner of the building is a Tea Room. I ate there once when it first opend and had the best cup of coffee and slice of apple pie I've ever had.
I'm pretty sure it's still open back there. I go to the Antique Outlet alot and there's always a group of little old ladies back there sipping tea and talking about all the cool antiques they saw.

How bout

Ummmm,,, what about the little corner in the barrio called Mana's. That place is awesome and cheap. Only thing that would improve the food would be real tortillas. Herbert's beans and salsa are pretty crappy. Chicken enchilada are good.

new in town..where do I go?

I just moved here from San Antonio and was wanting to know some places to go to eat or hear music. I don't know anyone here yet and want to know where the early 40's crowd might go!

Try the

TRIPLE CROWN

http://www.triplecrownlive.com/

Depending on what type of band is playing, you could get crowds from every edge of the spectrum
