I would mention too that Lake Jocassee is a very nice place to camp as well as the Dupont state forest. There are multiple waterfalls at each and the hiking is great.

Dupont state forest is perfect with all the wonderful hiking, and sites to check out. Congaree in nice as well but can get muggy in summer time and nasty in winter so it has a small window.

Dupont is awesome. Don't forget Table Rock tho. And there are many other spots off HWY 11.
