Like Suffer78, I've been to Hot Wells a handful of times for rifle, handgun and skeet. It's a simple, family-owned operation, but me and my boys like it. I also visited the indoor range at 249 / 1960. It's called Shiloh. It's small, but as he mentioned, it's great for shooting handguns when the weather is bad.
American Shooting is good for the occasional shooter. Nice range and was well run the last time I was there. Cease fires every 30-min for posting targets and picking up your brass. They charge per person and gun if you're not a member.
It's nice to live out in the country and be able to walk out the back door and shoot to 500 yards.
Since no one has mentioned it yet, Pasadena shooting center. You can shoot most anything there. It's only 25 yards, but where else can you shoot rifles indoors.
The Arms Room is a indoor range out to 23.5 yards, they charge 12/hour for as many guns as you want per lane. Bring a friend and just take another 6/hour ... After the first hour they pro-rate the hourly cost (15 min increments) They have 15 lanes, can shoot pistols, rifles (anything equal or under 30 caliber minus magnums), and shotguns (no bird shot)
They also have 4 Full Auto's for rent (M4 in 9mm, M4 in 5.56, AK-47, AK-74) $25 + ammo (have to shoot their ammo)+ range time. They also have a few rifles and several pistols to choose from to rent (for cheaper cost)
There's a fairly new indoor range in Spring, Spring Guns and Ammo. Small but decent for handgun. $15 per lane per hour, with two people allowed, unlimited guns. Thought their ammo and gun prices were decent too. I'd only make the trip if you lived close to it though.
Justen, I went there on Sunday (or was it Monday? lol), but anyway...it was a very nice place. By far the nicest, cleanest gun range I've ever been to.
FYI, for the month of December lanes are only $5 per person per hour. Me and my two boys went and shot of few hundred rounds in the 9mm for grins and only cost me $15.
