Shooting ranges in Milwaukee area

Are there any good shooting ranges in the general vicinity of Milwaukee? Any places to avoid?

there's a gun club in saukville, about 25 min north of milwaukee. You might have to be a member, not sure.

Shooter's Sports Center, 4900 6 Mile Road, Racine - (262) 681-1040
is pretty decent. You don't have to be a member to use the facility. They have ranges for shotgun, handgun, low-powered rifles and archery. It's $12/hour, and $7 to rent a gun. You can swap out rentals at will, too. A good way to check out what pistol fits you best if you are looking to buy one.

Indoor pistol ranges at

The Shooters shop (West Allis (84th & Cleveland)) - Very nice place to browse the store/shoot

Badger Guns (Milwaukee (43rd & Oklahoma)) - OK, if its closer to you than Shooters shop

Everything thats on your driver's liscense.

And then you have to sign a shoot-at-your-own-risk waiver.

Waukesha Gun Club is off F (the old 164) a little north of 94. They have shotgun shooting - trap, skeet and sporting clays. I haven't shot there for a while, but it was a nice place.
