A Seattle Legend Passed Away

Rest in peace, Dave, you will be missed, Mariner games will not be the same without you.

Dave Niehaus, voice of the Mariners for over 30 years and the first Mariner in the Hall of fame died today at age 75.

I meet him a coupe years back at a charity auction. Dan Wilson and he where standing in line in front of me and I was thinking of saying something but I didn't want to be that guy that buts in. Before I could think of anything to say he turned around and started a conversation, we finally got to the bar and he bought me a beer and then he and Dan Wilson and hung out by that bar for 10/15 min. Very nice guy and he will be missed.

I worked for several different Mariners' affiliate radio stations and had the pleasure of meeting Dave a few times. I even got to hang out in the booth for a few innings back in the Kingdome. He was an amazing man and a fantastic broadcaster and I don't know if baseball will be the same next season.

When I was stationed in the area and would listen to the Mariners I had know idea how good this guy was. As the years went by I missed listening to the Mariners game and Dave. It is always sad when someone passes. It is especially sad when someone who was a part of your life passes. I will miss you Dave.

My Oh My!

Legendary... I for one hate the new breed of former players calling games! Just because you played does not mean you can call!

He could just make you see in your mind what was happening on the field....

I wish he would have been able to call the M's in a World Series!!! Damn I'm gonna miss him.
