Far NW burbs... The Barley House in Algonquin. Tons of beer variety, including sampler flights.

I have heard of this place, but have never made it up there. I will have to check it out.

The Public House in Elgin is supposed to be good too, but I have not made it there (don't get to many bars due to a busy work load and family).

Used to go to chicago for vacations, finally got a chance to go to the Map Room over the summer (The Map Room - A Traveller's Tavern in Chicago). What. A. Selection. You cannot get disappointed.

Our favorite bar when we visit Chicago (the one at Armitage & Hoyne, think they have another location somewhere). A selection that some bars I've seen meet, but never exceed.

Finnegan's in Plainfield. Great beer menu and the food is awesome. Kinda hard to get to right now due to construction, but well worth the hastle.
