First time this season for the Rochester area, Thursday night. It's just possible flurries forecasted and it will probably just be rain.. but the big stuff isn't far off.
I'm getting excited for some big snow,, getting the CJ winterized and ordering more firewood this week..
ironlung, best advice I have heard is find an empty parking lot and learn as you play. assuming you have a cj/yj/tj type thing, they are a bit odd in handling compared to a Cherokee or other 'normal" 4x4. Just take it easy..
I got wrecked last year in the first snow of the season, also my first Jeep. Some idiot got out of shape next to me on the freeway, I jumped out of throttle and immediately started a series of ever worsening tank slappers that ended with my CJ in the cable dividers. I replaced the tires that week and found the new ones to be better in 2wd than the old ones in 4x4..
I would love for some snow, but the Jeep is back home. I can't wait to be home and get snow though. It would be nice to get like 2 feet (even though I am the one who plows it with a Wheel Horse that is about as old as my dad and has a plow the size of 2 shovels).
Rain and Snow Mixed, Low 35?
Scattered showers, with some wet snow or ice pellets mixing in, especially south of Rochester. Highest hilltops may see a coating overnight.
Winds: NW 5-15 mph
We are having a 10 day Humans vs Zombie game here on campus (started midnight between Wednesday and Thursday). The light rain is keeping the Zombies inside making it safer for us humans, and snow would probably drive more people back outside just for the spectacle. I am kind of glad it isn't even supposed to flurry here. It makes getting to class and other places much much safer.
