Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't grants comprised of taxpayer money?
I'm glad I'm not the only one that still owns a red-rider.
$19.95 at a NW chain named Bi-Mart. I bought one last week. I tried a pump up BB gun in rifle & pistol but they're too slow and it takes time to pump up pressure. The old Daisy is fast and accurate.
BB's on the other hand are way over priced.

The "activists" buying the guns should be applauded and supported. We need to make the buyback bull**** net nothing but broken guns. If it works, it should not be destroyed by the statists. Give those guns to law-abiding citizens who maybe can't afford a weapon.
Remember, an armed society is a polite society.
I'm a gun nut, and I certainly wouldn't give up my guns.
But. There are undoubtedly people who want to dispose of their guns. People who aren't allowed to own guns, can't legally sell them, and need to get rid of them. I would say that if someone is willing to accept $100 for a handgun, better that handgun end up with the police than in criminal hands.

It is legal in Texas to sell a firearm to an individual, just so you know
It's been well established that no responsible gun owner would have anything to do with either of these buyouts (other than to unload cheap and/or broken guns) - so every functioning gun they collect will have come from some irresponsible party.
To address one of the other issues... I can think of easier ways to put myself in prison, commit suicide, or steal groceries than to try to rob a gun owner and turn his guns into the cops.

I don't see anything wrong with these people giving away their guns to cops. If you give it away you obviously aren't educated enough to own one. They didn't need it to start with. And if you are going to give it might as well be to someone that wont use it to do bad things with. I would hate to think I sold my gun to someone looking to hurt someone else.
